Great place to rest and relax. Lovely and quiet - during weekdays but even when busy, it is possible to find peaceful quiet. Very refreshing - especially the rainforest gully.

The garden is pretty good, but the tour guide we had was the highlight - very sincere, patient, and informed. We were lucky enough to get a private tour since it was a bit rainy and I suppose everyone else stayed home! A true delight. Also visited the cafe and got some delicious food with him afterwards. It was nice of him to join us. The food was absolutely scrumptious and well presented, but quite pricey. The put the non-vegan parts on the side so my companion, a vegan, could eat. I liked the soy hot chocolate too. I recommend checking out the rock garden area and the indigenous plants. Unfortunately, parking is paid.

Very informative free guided tour from a friendly member of staff who showed immense knowledge and passion for botanical studies. Great place to get in touch with nature.

Beautiful place to visit, and a must for locals and tourists. Please note that the only one star reviews are for service at the old cafe... nothing to do with the botanic gardens. But on that note, there is a new cafe with great food and fast friendly service!

Lovely views over Lake Burley Griffin to the east & across to the Brindabella Mountains to the west. Fantastic assortment of bonsai in the collection, good range in the book and gift shop. Lots of regular fun & educational activities for the general public. Excellent restaurant for fine dining but cafe is a little overpriced & a bit too trendy for a place whose main clientele are families & pensioners.
